Sufi scholars from around 80 countries in the activities of the Indonesia World Sufi Forum in Pekalongan, Central Java have appointed Habib Luthfi bin Yahya as the leader of this international-scale Sufi forum. Habib Luthfi was elected by acclamation at a session chaired by the Syrian Mufti Sheikh Adnan Al-Afyouni. Responding to the election of Habib Lutfi, Sufism expert KH M. Luqman Hakim said that this was a signal for the world to rise towards Allah. “This is the time, the world rises to Allah Azza wa Jalla. The revival concert goes to Him," said Kiai Luqman who is also the Director of the Sufi Center quoted by NU Online, Thursday (11/4) via his Twitter. As informed, Rais 'Aam Idarah Aliyah Jam'iyyah Expert Thariqah Al-Mu'tabarah An-Nahdliyah (JATMAN) Habib Luthfi bin Yahya was elected by acclamation as leader of the World Sufi Forum at the inauguration of the World Sufi Forum at the Santika Hotel, Pekalongan, Central Java, Tuesday (9/4) evening. All participants, both foreign and domestic, raised their hands when asked by Sheikh Adnan Al-Afyouni. This was a sign of agreeing to nominate Habib Lutfi bin Yahya as the leader of this newly formed organization. "I thank you for the trust that has been given to me," said Habib Luthfi shortly after being elected. But not enough with things like that, Habib Lutfi also asked all world Sufi scholars to help make this organization a model for Islamic organizations in the world. (Fathoni)
